Well here is another update for you. Sorry there are no photos yet, they´ll be coming soon. The weather looks like it´s going to be a little more typical for the next couple of weeks-WINDY! We´ll see what we can do.

Well things are going well down here in Patagonia, actually things are going exactly as expected. So far we´ve managed to get lost at every possible turn. We got lost on the glacier trying to find the campsite, got lost in the dark on the pre-dawn approach to the peak, got off-route on the climb, etc. So anyway, we ended up bailing off the peak after climbing about 1000´ of the 1800´route. That´s alright though, I figured patagonia would teach us a lesson or two before we figured out how to climb down here. Pretty wild getting the amazing alpenglow on the peaks in the morning, feeling the cold, rough rock, the cold, wet snow underfoot in the rockshoes, and the WIND! I think it was a pretty mellow day for wind and yet it still nearly knocked me over.

So we hightailed it back to town with the wind blowing us along. Turns out our timing was perfect anyway. We came back to our campground right as the owners were starting a real asado. A whole lamb was barbequed up and big jugs of wine accompanied it. A big party with all the guests/campers, and some real gaucho friends of the owners talked and lauged and told stories late into the night.

Now we´re chilling in town, repairing gear, checking the weather, and letting our sore feet and muscles recover. Sorry there are no photos yet. I have to wait until we can fill a DVD with pics and then they´ll transfer them for us. I should be able to upload and email some from there.

Take care, Felix
